I am a big supporter of the Susan G Komen Foundation and breast cancer awareness in general. After losing my mother to the disease in June 2002, I was lost, emotional and did not have a place to vent my frustrations and sadness to and channel into a positive place. I wanted to do my part in getting the world closer to a cure and understanding breast cancer – and you can help!
I’ve been participating in the Susan G Komen race for 5 years now with my race team “Jogging for Jugs” in Atlanta. It’s been a fun co-ed team that jogs/walks/runs in the 5K and 1 mile walk each Mother’s Day weekend. In 2011, we expanded the Jogging for Jugs team nationally and participated in the Chicago Race for the Cure. Want to Start a team in your City? Let me know!
Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure is a 5K run/walk dedicated to saving lives, raising awareness to end breast cancer awareness and give people hope. The organization is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer so come join his amazing organization and make a difference!
